Mayor Dan Gibson & The Historic City of Natchez

Imaginary Company developed a city seal for the administration preceding Dan Gibson, our current mayor. Separate from CVB tourism branding, this brand was targeted at unifying city municipal efforts and our town. It was an outgrowth of a city masterplan effort and a communication effort to revitalize of a more inclusive and efficient city.

In 2020, Dan Gibson’s campaign for Mayor was an “against the odds” endeavor. COVID compounded the already difficult task of door-to-door introductions of a relative newcomer to the voters. Yet, he bested a long-standing local favorite and an incumbent mayor.

Imaginary Company created the traditional messaging and selling materials for the campaign and took his campaign 90% digital. Digital/social messages could change in real-time, as well as maintain the campaign brand. An integrated and relentless combination of emails, event announcements, live FB broadcasts, web shares, youtube, paid digital ads, and targeted boosts turned the tide. Of course, Dan being a natural presenter and great candidate, was invaluable, but the power to integrate multiple digital delivery channels in a real-time campaign allowed Natchez to get to know their new mayor. Dan has kept up his use of live social media with weekly Facebook live broadcasts and messages. Follow his personal and the City's Facebook pages to see the power of this medium in action.
